"Am I really living the life I want?” "Am I living a life the way I don't regret when I die?" "Who are the most important people in my life?" "What are the most precious things that I don't want to lose?" "What is the purpose of my life?"
It's not often that you can ask yourself these questions.
Buddha pointed out the reality of human life: that people often distract themselves from the anxiety of having an uncertain afterlife with things like work, household chores, parenting, hobbies, and entertainment, but that these only provide a fleeting escape. They don’t allow us to actually break free from the lonely and uncertain journey ahead.
Buddhism therefore urges us to face this crucial matter of birth and death directly and provides guidance towards resolving these profound questions.
